How retail properties are filled with life in prague

It is remarkable to look at the similarities and the differences of the art of how to decorate shop windows and retail floors within various European metropolises. On a recent trip to Prague, i took some pictures of store windows that might serves as suggestion or example concerning store design and which i don’t wish to withhold. The city center of prague is famed for its architecture, characterized by a huge quantity of beautiful medieval and art nouveau buildings. For professionals designing the interieur of retail stores and the resepective store windows, this brings along the challenge to combine modern approaches that are supporting sales with old architecture in a coherent way. As can be seen in the following pictures sometimes with more, sometimes with less success.

Caused by the fierce competition amongst prague retailers one has to have an outstanding window display to be noticed by customers. This is especially true because of the relatively high rental prices for commercial real estate and retail properties: Square meter prices for prime retail properties in the inner city of prague can reach up to 180 Euro per month. Not all merchants reach sufficient turnover and / or profit margins to be able to cover the expected rent, so a relatively high fluctuation of tenants doesn’t come as a surprise. If this could be early signs of a property bubble in commercial real estate in prague can’t be told with certainty, obviously, but might well be the case. In case you wish to take a look at luxurious retail stores with attractive store design yourself, you can find them mainly in excellent locations such as Na Příkopě street, on Wenceslas Square (Václavské Náměstí) or in one of the better shopping centers such as ‘Černá Růže’.
